Winter wonderland for young and old

Winter holidays in the Ötztal offer the whole family an exciting variety of sports, fun & action with unforgettable experiences.

Welcome to the snow paradise! - Skiing fun for the little ones and also for the big experts
With the variety of activities on offer in the Ötztal, there is one that should not be missed on a holiday with children: Skiing is simply the greatest thing here and also ensures that the youngsters enjoy winter sports and real fun on the slopes - from taster courses for the little ones to snowboarding for the freedom-loving youth.

Finally, the Ötztal shines with absolute snow guarantee and no less than 6 ski areas. The spectrum ranges from the ultimate winter sports paradise of Sölden with its two spectacular glacier ski areas to the three small, fine ski areas in Vent, Gries and Niederthai, which are perfect for families and well worth a day trip.

The best childcare - from ski kindergarten to Kinderland and Family Park
Skiing fun starts from the age of 3, with several ski schools in Sölden offering a programme of courses optimally tailored to the needs of children. With lots of fun, games and variety for the little ones. Parents can conquer the extensive skiing terrain and know that their offspring are in good hands in the children's areas. This also applies to babies and toddlers between 6 months and 3 years in the ski kindergartens, where professionally trained staff lovingly look after the little ones all day long.

Over blue slopes to the magnificent glacier - or big fun in the AREA 47 Snowpark.
In Sölden you will find the perfect terrain for every level of skier. In addition to the good ski schools, the many blue slopes, around 75 km in total, make Sölden the ideal ski area for beginners. The whole family can explore the great world of snow together, all the way up to 3,250 metres! That's where the blue piste no. 38 on the Tiefenbach glacier starts as a relaxed pleasure on the slopes. Before setting off, you should definitely visit the BIG3 panorama rock walkway with its fabulous summit panorama.

Big fun for the more experienced youngsters is not only to be found in glacier ski areas and on steeper slopes, but also in the AREA 47 Snowpark Sölden. With a total of 47 obstacles on an area of 6 hectares, it is one of the largest in Austria. Whole families whizz through the 680 m long fun slope with waves, steep turns and tunnels. Situated at 2,450 m above sea level in a sunny location, the snow park is the ultimate for snowboarders and freestylers.

Tip: With the Ötztal Superskipass, the whole family can explore and enjoy all 6 ski areas and thus the boundless variety of over 350 kilometres of slopes. More information is available here.

Discover the winter wonderland! - From a fun toboggan run to a snowshoe hike.
The winter landscape in the Ötztal is as multifaceted as the activities for young and old are off the slopes. Throughout the valley you will find snow playgrounds for frolicking in the snow and building snowmen or for snowball fights. Ice skating can also be great fun.

Tip: As a real natural jewel, Lake Piburg is a wonderful destination for the whole family. As soon as the ice is thick enough, the natural ice skating rink opens and lets you pirouette with joy. In addition, a winter hiking trail leads through the wildly romantic surroundings and a toboggan run also brings great fun.

Snowshoe hiking is also an incomparable experience. On the guided tours across country through the deeply snow-covered, silent nature, you may come across tracks of shy forest animals and, with a bit of luck, even spot one. This family-friendly sport requires little equipment, which can be rented on site. The same goes for a fun tobogganing session, with 15 toboggan runs to choose from in the Ötztal. Before the winding descent on runners, a delicious snack in the mountain hut is a tempting option.

Tip: The illuminated toboggan run Sölden - Gaislachkogl is one of the longest toboggan runs in Austria with a length of 7.3 km and is also suitable for families and less experienced skiers due to the route.

Special highlights on a family holiday - ensure a sunny smile in all weathers.
Even biking is the order of the day in the Ötztal winter.
AREA 47, Austria's largest outdoor leisure park at the entrance to the valley, has recently opened the country's first indoor bike park. From six years upwards, young and old mountain bikers can shred, drop and jib to their heart's content.

At the other end of the Ötztal, high up at over 2,200 m, is the Top Mountain Motorcycle Museum, where a fascinating selection of motorised two-wheelers can be admired.

You should also pack your bathing suit for your winter holiday in the Ötztal. Because the Freizeit Arena Sölden provides a refreshing change as a family-friendly adventure pool. While the little ones whizz down the wide slide into the children's pool, the grown-ups can relax on the bubble loungers.

A wellness offer in a class of its own awaits the whole family at the AQUA DOME in Längenfeld. On 22,000 m2, 12 indoor and outdoor pools with 32 - 34 C° warm water invite you to enjoyable relaxation and at the same time admire the winter landscape all around. The little ones will also have a blast in the pool, with a world of games and entertainment in the "Alpen Arche Noah". Childcare is included in the entrance fee!

The James Bond world of experience is sensational high up on the Gaislachkogl at 3,050 m. 007 ELEMENTS is reminiscent of the filming of the Bond film "Spectre" and lets you immerse yourself in the world of the legendary secret agent in a spectacular way. Highlights include the "Tech Lab" with all the agent gimmicks and Bond's plane wreck in the "Action Hall". Next door, the gourmet restaurant ice Q invites you to enjoy the summit.

Tip: From the 6-day ski pass, entry to the James Bond experience world 007 ELEMENTS and the Top Mountain Motorcycle Museum is included in the period 16.11.23 - 21.04.24.
