Sölden ski area - as the "Heartbeat of the Alps", the biggest guarantor of snow reliability.
There are several good reasons why Sölden is one of the most sought-after destinations for skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts in Europe. At the top of their wish list is a guarantee of snow, and this is where the popular ski village at the back of the Ötztal scores at full stretch, or rather with impressive heights. Situated between 1,350 and 3,340 metres, Sölden is one of Austria's most snow-sure ski resorts and also the only ski resort in the country with three three-thousand-metre ski mountains accessible by lift - the legendary BIG3.
Best snow-white views from early autumn until late into spring
The fact that the ski season in Sölden often starts as early as the end of September and lasts into May is thanks to the two glacier ski areas on the Tiefenbach and Rettenbach glaciers, which are connected by a spectacular ski tunnel and offer 37.3 kilometres of pistes between 2,675 and 3,250 metres in altitude.
The "Golden Gate to the Glacier" as a comfortable glacier express provides the connection to the rest of the Sölden ski area. Usually from mid-November - the season is scheduled to start on 16.11.2023 - an incomparable winter sports paradise opens up, including the AREA47 Snowpark Sölden and excellent mountain gastronomy as well as highlights such as 007 ELEMENTS or the Sölden Winter Challenge.
