Event highlights in the Ötztal valley - Summer 2023
If you want to experience something special, you don't have to think twice during your holiday in the Ötztal. The variety of events is only topped by the magic of the highlights.
Here is a small selection from the multitude of events - as an appetiser for your hunger for experience:
03. - 05.08.2023: 25th Ötztal Classic - noble cars on impressive mountain roads
A fabulous opportunity for lovers of Classic Cars to admire these historic gems up close, especially on the first two days on the stages in Längenfeld and through Sölden.
07 - 09.08 and 05 - 08.09.2023: Vent unplugged - the feel-good programme at the pulse of nature & the region.
Finding yourself, new energy and wonderful natural sites as well as the roots of regional culture - this is how the Vent unplugged feel-good programme can be summarised. Free offers - from yoga and regional cooking classes to a guided round tour on historical tracks (including the discovery of Ötzi) and sky watching - let you enjoy the magnificent mountain world and culinary delights. The sunrise tour to the Wilder Mann (3,019 m) with mountain breakfast, a guided glacier tour and the gourmet trail with local specialities are real highlights and may also cost something. When the lights go out in the whole village during the Candle Light Dinner, the term dream experience reveals its true nature in the candlelight.
22. - 23.09.2023: Oetz Trophy - Extreme Kayak Championships
Whether extreme paddlers, freestyle and slalom world champions or expedition kayakers, the international elite of kayaking comes to Ötztal every year. They follow the call of the wilderness called Ötztaler Ache - also legendary among rafters for a long time. The "crazy kayaks", as they could be respectfully called, master one of the most difficult stretches of white water in the world. And they do it as fast as possible in the competition for the Oetz Trophy. Thanks to the hiking trail along the riverbank (see route description), there are optimal vantage points to follow the course of the race and feel the power of the roaring water for yourself.
29.09. - 03.10.2023: National Day of the BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN - a celebration according to the motto "one for all".
Every year, the international bike community celebrates the BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN as both the end of the season and its culmination. Founded as one of the most ambitious bike projects in the Alps, the motto "one for all" is also reflected in the programme variety over the 5 days. From the citizens' meeting and the supervised children's programme to various contests, guided tours and riding technique courses, one highlight follows the other. Let's go to the Gaislachkogl valley station in Sölden, the bike Eldorado sends its regards!
